A first look Inside Made by Hand:

The following images are excerpts from my new book. The introduction as well as a sneak peak at three of the six ‘furniture project chapters’.
The book also features five more plans for workbench appliances; a shooting board, bench hook, miter hook, winding sticks and Krenov inspired saw horses. Take a look inside and see what you think. You’ll also get a free DVD that will walk you through all of the hand tools I used in these projects; from Lie Nielsen to Lee Valley we’ll take a close look at the more popular manufacturers on the market today and I’ll discuss the pros and cons of each. This will really help out the beginner who can sometimes feel overwhelmed when starting the journey into wood working.

I’m more than willing to help you out along the way when you start making these projects yourself through e-mail as well as my blog.

Thanks for reading and happy shavings!

Tom

    Hey David,
    Nice to hear from you…
    Thanks for the comments-
Sorry for not getting the CD out sooner, it's been a crazy ride getting to this point!
    It'll be there soon.
    Keep well.

Just wanted to say that I had a reader comment on the spelling of the word 'bridal' joint in the last page example. This isn't a typo or a reason to hang my editor (as the comment may have suggested! )but a regional term for what's known as a bridle joint. I actually call it a 'bridal slip' but you'll have to read the entire book to find out why!
Sorry for the confusion but if you Google 'bridal joint', you'll see I'm not alone when using that term.

Submitted my pre order. Can't wait for it to ship. Great work getting to this point. The publishing details were probably much more difficult than the construction of the pieces.

Just got your book, looking forward to getting into it. I was impressed while looking through it at the local Barnes & Noble.

You among others have inspired me to get more into the hand tool woodworking. Have 2 saws and 2 planes on their way to me, should have before weekend.

    Thanks Tom,

    Larry
