It’s that time of year again, when the days start getting shorter and the air gets a little cooler. It reminds us that the Fall is fast approaching and we’ll have much less time to sit on patios, enjoying that warm summer sun. That said, there’s still plenty to do indoors, especially if you’re planning on spending some time in Leslieville, at The Unplugged Woodshop Toronto.
We’re happy to announce our Fall classes are posted with lots of exciting new topics and techniques to choose from. We have some guest instructors joining us as well as a few special events in the works.
FULL TIME PROGRAMS
To begin, we’re only a month away from beginning our full time, 10-Week Artisan Program. If you’d like to invest in yourself, and spend 10 weeks submersed in hand tools and cabinet making, this may be the place for you. A 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday intensive, where you’ll learn the fundamental techniques required for a life long journey in furniture making. Follow the links to find out the details!
WEEK LONG COURSES
Don’t have time for the full 10 weeks? Not to worry, you can join-in for a week here or there and see what the program is all about. Spend a week with us and make a Wooden Hand Plane, or a Kerfing Plane and Frame Saw. Maybe a week of Roubo Style Parquetry or learn how to build aTraditional Dovetailed Drawer? We’ll be posting these week long sessions as we get into the Program and see what our student body count is.
FULL DAY CLASSES
We’ve also added some new Bootcamps to our Fall Semester.
( a great gift idea! )
This coming weekend we’re welcoming guest instructor Andrew Strome, who will be guiding students through a weekend of Japanese Woodworking. ( The Japanese Woodworking Weekend is now SOLD OUT )
In December, we’re happy to welcome author, Vic Tesolin, who will be guiding students through a weekend course called The Snow Hill Bench Weekend. Space is limited and we expect this class will sell out so if you’re interested, register sooner than later!
Of course we still offer our Introduction to Hand Tools classes a few Saturday’s through the season. If you’re looking for a good place to begin, or perhaps a gift for someone special, then this may be the one for you.
We’re hosting an OSMO finishing presentation later in the month ( dates and details coming soon ) as well as the monthly Toronto Woodworkers Association meetup.
We’re working on a few more special events so stay tuned for details~
The woodshop is bustling with activity and we hope you can join us for some hand tool only woodworking. We have an amazing community to welcome you with enough motivation, inspiration and determination to get you through another Fall and Winter season here in Toronto.
Make everyday, a Masterpiece!
