I received a letter from Jarrett in California this week and wanted to share it with you. Jarrett just finished making a Frame Saw, following plans from my book, The Unplugged Woodshop. He used maple for the frame, and came up with a clever design due to the fact that he didn’t have enough material.
Great job Jarrett! Thanks again for sharing this with us~
I finished the frame saw from your plans last month. I used soft maple left over from my bench build for the frame. Since I didn’t have a large enough piece of wood for the handle, I made what I had work by going with a more traditional design. After using the saw I will probably soften the handles a bit, but it is pretty comfortable as is. If I don’t like the handle, I can always replace it down the road. It was a fun and simple project. The saw works really well. Thank you for the design.
