Hi Tom,

Once again I find you and I thinking in parallel! I recently held my breath and drilled holes in my bench top for the Vertitas Bench pups. It has worked out well.

I also have their Bench Anchors which fit in the same holes, and, with use of a drilled board, effectively as act stops with an extended reach.

Tom, may I make a suggestion regarding holding boards in the front vise? In this video on the Pop Wood site, I demo a method to fill the opposite side of the vise to prevent racking. The article is in PW NOvember 07 - "Workbench Upgrades.(I notice you've got a spacer board in the vise in the photo with the dovetail saw in a kerf.)

http://www.popularwoodworking.com/article/upgrade_your_workbench_video/

Also, a bit more elaborately, there's a method for stabilizing wide boards in the front vise.

See what you think. They work for me.

Again, excellent information and presentation on your blog. Thanks. Looking forward to your book!

Regards,

Rob Porcaro
