Sam,
thanks for the comments-
the middle box inside the tool cabinet sits in grooves and can move from side to side-
it contains some moulding planes and most of my drill bits as well as a few other small items. The reason for the side to side movement is so I can reach the tools on the rear wall of the cabinet behind the interior box.
I'll do a full post on it when I can- you're not the first to ask about it.

keep well.

Hi Tom

I purchased your book & am enjoying it very much.In looking at pictures of your tool cabinet i am wondering what the box in the upper center is for? It looks like it may be removable. I would like to build my own tool cabinet soon & am looking for ideas.I am sure others would like to know more about your tool storage.

Keep up the great work &blog.

Every woodworker should build an alter to the tools that gives him as much pleasure as the work its self Me I am building two 2 tool chest for my grandsons who are 1 and 4. I hope to leave them a full kit before I leave this earth, along with some tools that I have made just for them. I still believe if I teach them to fish they will never go hungry<br/>Joey
