A Frame saw from Namibia

June 20, 2015

I received a letter from Gerhard two weeks ago and finally have a chance to share it with you.

Gerhard made a beautiful frame saw, following plans in my book, The Unplugged Woodshop.

He documented the process on his blog but I wanted to share a few pics here with you.

Thanks again for the links Gerhard,

your frame saw looks amazing!

I hope you get many years of use from it.

All the best~

Dear Tom

My name is Gerhard Marx. I am a hobbyist woodworker on weekends and a Psychiatrist during the week. I have been blogging about my journey since 2013. Living in Namibia creates all sorts of challenges for a woodworker, but it actually helped me to discover hand tool work. I finished a frame saw that was inspired by your work on the weekend and thought I should send you some links to the posts.

I really enjoy your blog, ethics and excellent craftsmanship. I hope my attempt does not drag your name through the mud.
Thanks for your time and inspiration.
Kind regards
Gerhard
